Our Lenses Guide Standard single vision (CR39) - This lens is both lightweight and budget. It is suitable for most rimmed & half rimmed frames and will tint well for sunglasses. Mid Index (1.56) - This low cost lens is 20% thinner than standard and will tint well. Recommended for higher + prescriptions. Over +6.00 dioptre requires a sun spec tint. Polycarbonate (1.59) - These lenses are both thinner and lighter than standard plastic. With 100% ultraviolet protection they are up to 10 times more impact resistant than plastic. Polycarbonate lenses are an excellent choice if you are after rimless, half rimmed and sports glasses. Thin (1.6) - Up to 40% lighter and 35% thinner than standard plastic lenses. Tough anti-scratch and anti-reflective comes standard. Thinner (1.67) - 45% lighter and 45% more thin than standard plastic lenses. You won't find much thinner lenses out there. Because of the slimness, these lenses are suitable for most frames.Thin and thinner lenses are recommended for prescriptions above +6.00 down to -10.00 dioptre. Thinnest (1.74) - Up to 60% thinner than standard plastic lenses. This is the thinnest plastic available. This lens comes with high-impact, scratch resistant multi-layer antireflection coating. These lenses are recommended for prescriptions from -2.00 to -10.00 dioptre.Please note: Thin thinner and thinnest lenses are not suitable for sunglasses. Transitions/Photochromic (1.50, 1.59 Polycarbonate, 1.6 or 1.67) - These lenses darken on exposure to UV rays and sunlight protecting your eyes from UV rays. This saves you from buying a separate pair of prescription sunglasses. The darkening feature means you are always wearing the perfect glasses. Suitable for rimmed and half rimmed frames. (1.59 & 1.67 are suitable for rimless.) Further Information Hard coating (scratch resistant)
This transparent and hard polyurethane coating, will prevent all fine scuffs and scratches that normal uncoated plastic lenses would mark.
Anti-reflection
This anti-reflection coating reduces all discomfort from any reflections and glares, as this lens allows light to pass through with less dispersion. For example, if you are driving at night this will benefit you, as they will reduce street light and headlamp flairs. these lenses also allow other people to see your eyes more clearly, which makes them cosmetically appealing.
Lens tints
Lens tints are mainly used for sunspecs, as they come in a wide selection of colours. With there being many benefits to these lens tints, such as full UV protection as well as a comfort tint to complement and match your chosen frame.
